Two meetings at Maximos Mansion over Kasidiaris and the VAT mafia - Phone wiretaps intensified since early September
What is happening with the VAT mafia and how are the revelations involving Pizza Fan and Horiatiko connected to call wiretaps?

Two critical meetings took place at Maximos Mansion focusing on the fragile and uncertain balances taking shape in the political landscape ahead of the elections on May 9, 16, or 23, 2027. In both meetings, the central focus was on Kasidiaris, Samaras, and the VAT mafia or economic criminals operating all these years. It is common knowledge that the shadow economy in Greece touches 40 billion euros, requiring shock treatment to clean up the rot. The two main conclusions are that New Democracy (ND) stands below or close to its European election result at 28%, but the arrival of Samaras's party—to be announced in February 2027—could hurt ND by 2 to 3 percentage points, bringing ND's adverse scenario down to 26% or even 25%. A very interesting development is that Kasidiaris and Symmachia Ellinon were at the center of both critical meetings, while there is deep concern regarding Samaras, leading to the following conclusions according to certain sources:

  1. Kasidiaris is being undercounted in polling, as youth and anti-establishment voters do not participate or express their positions to pollsters.

  2. Kasidiaris is reshuffling the deck across the Right-wing spectrum, affecting all parties by pulling percentages from Velopoulos's Greek Solution—which they ultimately estimate at 5%—Karystianou standing at 3%, and Samaras, who they believe will exceed 5% or even 6%. They also project Latinopoulou remaining outside Parliament.

  3. The Kasidiaris case is causing them severe concern. Two main scenarios are being examined:

A) If Kasidiaris trends high—reaching 7% to 8% in some scenarios—and given that Kasidiaris will not be a parliamentary candidate himself, they will allow the party to pass, as this fragmentation of the Right wing works to their advantage. They will not intervene in the Supreme Court in April 2027. Furthermore, if he exceeds 8%, it will be considered a massive legal challenge to bar a party that has three sitting MPs in leadership, is backed by Kasidiaris, and commands 500,000 supporters. As Kasidiaris's percentage grows, the chances of the party being barred decline.

B) However, there are also recommendations suggesting they should allow Kasidiaris to expose himself, monitor how balances take shape in the Supreme Court and its A1 Section, and bar him in April. Yet they fear the backlash from Kasidiaris's voter base; in fact, word has been communicated that if Kasidiaris is barred, he will publicly endorse Antonis Samaras, an act that could trigger a shock in the electoral scene and propel Samaras upward, driving ND below 25%.

At Maximos Mansion, there is deep concern over the magnitude and scope of voter turnout and Samaras's appeal, which they deliberately downplay in polls. The higher the voter turnout, the more difficult things become for ND. If turnout exceeds 5.5 million voters, the likelihood of ND sliding toward the 25% zone skyrockets rapidly.

What is happening with the VAT mafia and how are the revelations involving Pizza Fan and Horiatiko connected to call wiretaps?

According to a highly informed source, since September 1, call wiretaps have exploded in all directions, and developments on the financial mafia front are linked to recent revelations. The scale of the surveillance is such that applications like Signal or Viber are no longer safe. For some time, competent authorities have been gathering intelligence; for instance, the Angelopoulos case with Horiatiko did not begin recently—he was under surveillance since 2024, and actions intensified lately due to wiretaps and because insiders talked to authorities, giving up involved parties to avoid arrest. What is particularly interesting, however, is that surveillance with new systems has intensified so significantly that there is essentially no security in communications. According to certain sources, there are another four cases set to break.

Cases have been uncovered where individuals participated in EU structural funds (ESPA), stole the money, bankrupted the companies, and reappeared using frontmen in other corporate entities. There are extensive rumors about firms conducting these dirty operations, not only in nightlife but also involving restaurant chains in the Northern Suburbs and beyond. It is no coincidence that a government minister off-camera stated to a television station that a bomb is coming soon, referring to the Horiatiko case. Meanwhile, the Minister of Citizen Protection is keeping additional cases in his drawer, one of which concerns Mykonos—a case uncovered by BN in the past involving fraud exceeding 50 to 60 million euros.
